We’re officially opening on Friday 11th July 2025!
We can’t wait to meet you all. We’ll be here every day from 8:30am serving fresh coffee and brunch, then tapas and wine right through the day. Our focus is simple: sustainable good taste, locally sourced produce, and honest food done well.

We’d like you to meet our Head Chef, Gabriele Petrera
At the heart of La Tapa Loca’s kitchen is our talented Head Chef, Gabriele Petrera. Originally from the lush hills near Genoa, Italy, Gabriele grew up surrounded by fresh, organic produce and a deep respect for simple, honest cooking. This early connection to the land still inspires his passion for refined food made with natural ingredients.
Before joining La Tapa Loca, Gabriele was Executive Chef at FUMi Japanese Restaurant in Brighton, where he honed his flair for innovative Nippon-inspired flavours and led the much-acclaimed Omakase menus. Now, in his new role with us, he’s dedicated to creating vibrant, welcoming dishes that bring people together while staying true to our commitment to sustainability and fair prices.
Through every plate, Gabriele shares his vision: honest food, responsibly sourced, beautifully crafted – and always full of flavour.
